This 1981 Chevelle wore her 35+ year old original paint job, and was due for some well deserved love and attention. The body had little to no rust but had definitely weathered a few hail storms. There were a lot of little dents and a few bigger dents that needed some TLC.
Finally we hit it with 2k primer and mixed up our own one of a kind paint color we call like to call "Moonshine". Lastly, we laid down 2k clear on top and turned out beautifully.

This beauty isn't done yet but we had to fill you in on how far we have come. This job started out as a rewire and interior makeover. The customer later decided on full blown rebuild, which is still in the works. We couldn't have been more excited about his decision. This pickup is a classic and it always feels right to us when they get brought back to their original glory. When it was brought into us, this truck had a LS engine in it, but it almost completely non-functioning. The truck barely made it into the garage, it was a sad site to see. We started with all new polyurethane bushings and a rough country 4" lift kit. It didn't stop there; this pickup also needed new brakes, axels, bearings, steering box and stabilizers. The front end needed a total rework from start to finish. When the interior was nearing completion the customer saw his truck come back to life, he asked to get the exterior painted as well.
We will be back when this bad boy is complete and you can take a look at the final product. Until then, hope this can hold you over! |
